It's important to try and keep up with the accumulation. Don't let your sidewalk turn into the picture below! Keeping your sidewalks shovelled between snowfalls makes the task so much easier! Please remember that a variety of people use the sidewalks, including children, the elderly and those with impaired mobility. Keeping streets clear helps all the users access the places they need to go.
The Town of Killam Bylaw #773B requires sidewalks adjacent to your property to be cleared within 24hrs. Should complaints be received, bylaw fines will be issued, the 1st Offense being $75, up to $300. This applies to both businesses and residential properties.
Also - quick reminder - please shovel snow onto your yard, it will benefit your grass in the spring!
