West Lift Station Update- Friday, May 27

*Repairs Have Been Completed!*

Thank you to all those who cooperated over the last 4 days.  Your help has been very beneficial and very much appreciated.

West Lift Station Update- Thursday, May 26

*Please continue limiting water usage*

The Bypass Pump arrived in Killam! And the Contractors were able to locate the pipes that needed to be exposed by about 4:30 pm Wednesday. Today more digging to expose those located lines will take place. Replacing the piping might begin late in the day, but most likely a majority of that project will take place Friday.

Friday will also see the power cut off to the Lift Station, and the process of stripping the pump and inner components will take place. Installation of the new pump is next on the list!

**Please continue to limit the amount of water that is being put through the sewer system. Your cooperation is extremely helpful!

West lift station update- Wednesday, May 25

*Please Continue Limiting Water Usage*

Repairs are progressing around the Lift Station today. More groundwork is needed to find the pipes that need to be replaced. This means breaking through concrete in some areas before that is accomplished.

The Bypass Pump that will be installed is currently in Edmonton. It should be arriving in Killam later today. It will be coming with hosing, pipes and all the accessories that will be needed to have the installation completed. Should all these pieces come together without a hitch, the West Lift Station should be repaired and operational in another 36 hours!

Residents are asked to please continue limiting the amount of water used. This is specific to Residents on 55 Street and west, as well as those on 48 Avenue and south. Avoid use of high water cycling appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers. **Your cooperation has been exceptional so far and crews have been able to avoid sewer system backups! Thank You!

As of 5:30 pm - Tuesday, May 24 -, Work has been done during the day to locate the pipes that will require replacement/repair at the West Lift Station.  A pump will also need to be replaced and has been successfully sourced.  Residents South of 48 Avenue and those West of 55 Street are asked to please continue being diligent of the water that is being used.  Regular household use- such as flushing toilets, washing hands or cooking- is manageable. But Please avoid the use of high-cycling water appliances such as washing machines or dishwashers.  The less water that enters the sewer system, the less likely the opportunity of having basements flood.

Once Again - your cooperation is important! Thank you!

7:30 am - Tuesday, May 24 Update

The West Lift Station failed to operate as of Monday, May 23 at 11:30 pm. This affects properties All South of 48 Avenue and all West of 55 Street. Restricting water usage will greatly help ease the load on the sewer system until repairs can be completed (Ensuring that the sewer will not back into basements).

We will update as progress is being made.  Arrangements for repair are already underway.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter!
